As we were driving through downtown Rockwall, Kylee was mesmerized by all the American flags flying so beautifully throughout the square. She asked why there were so many and why they had them out. I replied, "Because it's the 4th of July." She wanted to know WHY we fly them so proudly on the 4th. I then began to explain to her that it represents our freedom. Something other countries don't have. I was proud to explain to her that we are free to make our own choices. We can wear what we want, live where we want, and most importantly, we are allowed to worship Jesus Christ. What a true blessing it is to live in such an amazing country.
We chose to celebrate this Independence Day by staying cool in Nana and Papa's pool. Brooks got in for a few minutes. He loves his baths, so I figured he would love floating in the pool as well. And he DID! Kylee of course dove right in and didn't want to get out.
The last couple of years, Papa has made homemade ice cream. Kylee enjoyed licking the blade clean.
Too much fun in the sun!
After the last two days of swimming and soaking up some sun at Nana and Papa's, we ended this Independence Day out in our own backyard surrounded by fireworks. Brooks of course was already in bed, but Kylee, Charlie, and I were out enjoying America's birthday!
I make my blog headers on picnik.com. There is an option to make a collage. I just put my pics in and then add the text.
