The past 4 years we have made our family trip to San Antonio to stay at they Hyatt Hill Country Resort and Spa, but this year was a little different. With us having Brooks, we wanted to stay a little closer and do something he could be a part of...at least a little bit. We took a "stay-cation" to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas. What a treat it was to have Nana and Papa join in on the fun the first day. We took turns sitting with Brooks while he relaxed and listened to all the water. He found it to be very soothing. I should have recorded it and brought it home.
None of us have ever been to GWL, so the first thing we did was head to the group rides. Nana stayed with Brooks while the rest of us ventured off. Thankfully, Kylee had a green wrist band which meant she could ride any ride she wanted. The four of us hopped on a tube together and headed down the roarin' rapids of one of the rides. I wish we had taken pictures of all our faces. There were a couple turns and twists when we all thought we were gonners. Needless to say, we ended our first ride with smiles and laughs.
For those of you who know Kylee, you can guess that she is shaking her groove thing.
Our little Princess getting served breakfast in bed!
This was Kylee after coming down a single slide. Look at her excitement when I asked if she wanted to do it again!
One of the things Kylee enjoyed the most was having a little time to herself in the Scooops Kid Spa. She slipped on a robe and was pampered with a chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry flavored manicure.
Brooks has been trying for days to get a hold of his thumb all on his own. Tonight....mission accomplished!
Kylee getting her glitter tattoo!
Kylee fixed her hair...can you tell?!?
As a keepsake, Kylee made a stuffed animal at the Great Wolf Stuffing Station.
Kylee wanted so badly to attempt the Great Wolf Paw Pass. I honestly didn't think she was going to make it, so I made her put on a life jacket. Much to my surprise, she made it all the way!!!
Kylee and Violet the wolf.
Playing Fruit Ninja...one of our favorite games on the iPad!
This was such a great trip. It was such a blessing to spend quality time as a family. A special thanks to Nana and Papa for taking Brooks home the second night so we could spoil Kylee. She was quite excited to have the much needed one on one time with her Momma and Daddy. As much fun as we did have, we are still looking forward to taking Brooks to San Antonio next year. There is just something about floating in the lazy river and laying on the "beach" at the Hyatt Hill Country.
