Summer 2017

Wow!  It has been quite some break I took from blogging.  I would love to pick it back up this summer and stay on top of things.  As you know, life gets in the way.  Here's a brief update of the Vaughans.  Kylee just completed 5th grade and is now 11.  She continues to play soccer for Sting. In fact, we just got home Sunday from a tournament in Houston.  We fly out Friday morning for another tournament in Colorado.  We are super excited to show the kiddos some real mountains.  Brooks just finished his first year in elementary school.  This momma is a tad sad! He had a great year of learning in kindergarten.  He loves to read  and is now 6 years old!  Charlie is managing several stores in south Dallas.  Not his favorite place to be, but he is so good at it.  As for me, well, not much has changed.  I am going from teaching 4th grade at Pullen to KINDERGARTEN! I seriously cannot wait.  I am looking forward to getting my passion for teaching back and to learn new things about the profession that I love so much.

Summer 2017:
Day 1- We slept in of course! What else is summer for? Am I right?  The kiddos and I hung around the house for a bit. I cleaned and organized the office/craft room.  That afternoon, we went to Shenaniganz with Kylee's friend, Faith.  We played games and road go-karts.

Day 2- Slept in again! Zzzzzz!!!  Faith ended up spending the night with Kylee.  I took the kids to the public library where they signed up for the summer reading program.  They searched for books, played on the computer, and read a little bit while I planned with my new kindergarten team.  Kylee went home with Faith for a sleepover, and Brooks and I went home to snuggle on the couch.  (Another summer favorite) Brooks wanted to help prepare dinner.  We chose brussel sprouts and scrambled eggs. Weird combo, I know.  It was delicious though.  After dinner, Charlie, Brooks, and I went outside to practice baseball.  Brooks hit several so hard they reached to top of the roof.  He was quite proud.  We ended the evening sitting out back with Melissa and Will.  The boys swam while the mommas caught each other up on the last week or two.
