Kylee has been playing soccer since she was two. From age 2 until 4, she played soccer in Mesquite with a wonderful man, Coach Rick. Last season I coached her team with Lakepointe Sports and we had a great time meeting new people & sharing the word of God with others. Again, with the new baby soon arriving, I had to eliminate that from my "to-do" list. As much as I wanted to coach again, I knew that I physically and mentally wouldn't be able to handle it right now. I am actually proud of myself for saying "no" to something. Instead, we signed Kylee up for youth soccer with the Rockwall YMCA. We are not too pleased with the way things are turning out, but hopefully they will get better.
Of course yesterday was a nice warm day with a high of 72, and today during practice it was 48. Not to mention the wind chill that was making it feel like 30 something. We braved the chilly weather for her first practice this morning. The team name is the Pixies and the jerseys are purple!!!
The practice didn't consist of any formal drills...or much of anything. We signed up for snacks, ordered and paid for the jerseys, and visited for a few minutes with the other parents. Our first game was supposed to be today, but because we got a late start with practices we skipped the game.
We are so excited to get the season started and see how Kylee does on the new team. Out of all the girls, Kylee is by far the tallest. I have a feeling that because there are only 2 other girls on the team that have played before, Kylee will be a little too aggressive. We had a slight problem with that last year. I have no idea why she is so competitive. (Her mom and dad maybe?!?!)
