Kindergarten Graduation

Tears filled my eyes as we celebrated Kylee's first year in elementary school.  This year has flown by.  It feels like yesterday I was playing patty cake with her, holding her hand as we walked around the block, giving her a bath, painting her fingernails, and reading her a bedtime story.  Now, shes having slumber parties, taking showers in her own bathroom, painting her own nails, and reading chapter books all by herself.  Thankfully, she was blessed with a hard working, dedicated teacher who devoted many hours molding Kylee into a life-long learner.  I am most thankful that she has helped Kylee understand the importance of good character.  I am also thankful that her teacher has instilled a love for reading in Kylee.  She is a reading machine, and we have been to the public library twice this past week so she could check out new books.

Brooks has the BEST big sister ever!

 Kylee and Abby

Kylee received several awards, but the candy bar award was the Payday award.  Her teacher wanted to make sure Kylee wouldn't have to worry about whether or not she had money in her lunch account or not.  She said EVERYDAY Kylee would buy lunch in the cafeteria, she would panic because she wasn't sure if she had money.  (as if her mother didn't work right down the hall)

What a wonderful year for Kylee to be in kindergarten.  Not only did she have an amazing understanding of teacher, but her student teacher was just as great!!  Mrs. Ramazzini was soft spoken and very "in tune" with Kylee's corkiness.  I loved that she appreciated Kylee for who she was.

Nana also came to celebrate and even joined us at El Chico for dinner.  Kylee got to choose where we ate dinner, and of course she wants enchiladas.
 My little future FIRST grader!
