Vacation Day 1

I am so excited to be blogging from Alabama right now.  Thanks to my dad, the entire family (minus Ryan) headed out Saturday morning to New Orleans.  This was our stopping point before we arrived in Gulf Shores.

Neither Charlie or myself have ever been to New Orleans.  We've heard stories and have seen pictures, but never experienced Bourbon street for ourselves.  It reminded me a lot of Las Vegas and San Antonio combined.  It was very stinky and dirty.  Of course Kylee was full of questions.  Some of which we had a hard time answering.  New Orleans is definitely not for kids.  It was neat to experience something different, but it is certainly not my favorite place. I seriously doubt I'll ever go back.
After we unloaded, we all set out to tour the streets.  Brooks did very good riding in his stroller.

This gentleman was sitting along the street playing his instrument trying to collect tips.  The kids were intrigued and weren't shy a bit.

Now it was our turn.

Brooks was such a good boy the entire time.  He loves being outside!

I'm so sad!!!  I have a ton more pictures to add, but unfortunately they won't load!  I'm hoping I can go back later and add pictures to the blog.

We are currently in Alabama.  The crew arrived yesterday and were all stunned at how beautiful Orange Beach is.  Last year we went to Destin, and this is just as good or even better.  The beaches aren't nearly as crowed, the pools are huge and filled with cool water, the condo is unbelievably gorgeous, and most importantly, the weather is amazingly refreshing.  Last night Jackie wanted a sweatshirt, and this morning Madison was requesting a jacket.  The cool breeze this morning felt great as I fed Brooks out on the patio over looking the stunning beach.  We woke up to some light thunder and amazing clouds.  Even a pretty rainbow popped up.  It's nice being away from home for a bit.  Especially when I was stressing about setting up my room and preparing lessons. I've enjoyed the relaxation and time with my family.  Best part is....I still have Tuesday night and Wednesday night!

I'm hoping I can get more pictures loaded, but we may have to wait until we get back to Texas to add them.  I'm still going to try to blog so I don't forget what we did each day.  Now off to put my toes in the sand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
