Spash Kingdom

I loved being able to stay home this school year.  Charlie was on vacation the last week of school, so we decided to check Kylee out of school a little early and enjoy a day at the water park.  Kylee likes to have a friend tag along so she can enjoy all the rides while Charlie and I play with Brooks.  We had fun floating the lazy river, swimming in the wave pool, and we even braved a few of the slides.

End of Year Party

Brooks has truly enjoyed his year at St. Luke's.  He was cared for by a loving teacher, Ms. April, every Tuesday and Thursday.  Brooks learned so much from her.  They would count, read, go to Lab, play outside, and most importantly, they prayed and learned about God!
Today we celebrated the wonderful school year with a puppet show, foam pit, and a pizza party.  I consider it such a blessing to be able to attend each of his events this year.  I remember all too well the feeling of disappointment and hurt when I couldn't attend some in the past when I was working.  I know the day will soon come that I am not able to attend everything again.  Until then, I will soak up every ounce of this little man that I can.

Brooks must have been worn out.  His teacher was reading them a story, and as all the other children were sitting on their towels, Brooks laid down and started sucking his thumb and playing with his hair.  (He is sitting next to me doing the same thing as I type.  he just looked and me and said, "DELETE that, Mom!"  I tell you what...this boy is a cutie!

CSE Color Run

College Street had their annual Color Run where the students celebrated their success and effort they all put in throughout the year.  They ran several laps around the track and collected colored necklaces.  They were even squirted with water by some of their teachers.  Kylee enjoyed running around the track with her friend, Ana-Russell.

Brooks and two of his friends entertained themselves on the bleachers while we all waited for Kylee to be finished.

Library

One of mine and Brooks' favorite things to do during the week while Kylee is at school is to go to story time at the Library.  They sing songs, read a book, do a craft, and provide a small snack for all the kiddos. Brooks also enjoys playing with the train table and puzzles.  We always grab a few books and sit on the stairs and read while we wait for the others to arrive.  Brooks like to read comic books, or books about Legos and superheroes.  Not my favorite, but I suck it up and let him choose a few.  I just want his loves for books to continue.  I hope that when we move back to Rockwall, we will continue to have our Friday outings.

CSE Field Day

Tuesday, May 19th, Charlie and I went to cheer on Kylee as she participated in a few different events in the school field day.  This wasn't like any field day we have ever been to before.  It was more like a track and field meet.  Even the other elementary school was bused over to compete.  The parents and students who weren't currently participating in an event stayed in the bleachers.  They waited until their event was called over the loud speaker and then went down to participate.  Kylee was a rock star in the 100 yard dash.  She nearly came in first, but walked away with a second place ribbon instead.  She wasn't quite as successful in the football throw, but still did very well.  Kylee and her friend, KK, received second place in the balloon toss.  They ended the field day with a tug-of-war show down between the two schools.  All 13 classes played as they eliminated team after team.  Mrs. Phillip's class ended up winning the bragging rights.  The moms and I had a great time cheering on our baby girls. We are incredibly thankful for Kylee's God given gifts.  She is so athletic, and we thank Him for blessing her with the talents she has.

After Party

We are so happy Nana from Arkansas, Savanna, Ernie, Sadie, and Layden were able to come down and celebrate with us.  We had our own little after party.  The guys went and picked up some dinner while the kids continued to play.

This morning, I made a nice big breakfast, and everyone filled their tummies.  After the rain, the girls thought it would be fun to play in the bounce house.

I think it is safe to say Brooks had a fun-filled weekend. Here he is sitting on the window seal taking a break.  Notice his thumb and hair?!?!

Super Brooks is FOUR!

Saturday, May  16th, I woke up around 6:30 a.m. with a stomach full of butterflies.  I couldn't wait to start decorating and setting up for Brooks' superhero birthday party.  I began the process around 7 a.m. We then went to Kylee's soccer game, where she scored 3 goals.  After that,  we returned home and finished decorating.  I am so thankful Savanna was here to help.  There is no way I would've been able to pull this off without her help.

This is one of my favorite things I made for his party.  We had Brooks dress up in all of his superhero costumes and I took pictures of him and made a banner to display them all.

Kylee had another soccer game, so Charlie and a few other people went to that, while I stayed home with Brooks.  He and Layden took a nice little nap, so they would have plenty of energy conserved for the party.  It was a good thing they did, too, because the party was nonstop fun.

Brooks and Layden snuggled up in bed for their pre-party nap.

The kids each had a can of "spider web" (silly string) that they got to spray each other with. This was a lot of fun.  Next time I would make sure there was enough for the adults to have some, too.

They played capture the villain.  The first team to use all the streamer to wrap the villain, won the game.

Papa had fun wrapping Brooks.

I'd say the bounce house was a success.

We are so thankful for all of Brooks' friends and family that came out and celebrated with us.  He sure has made some special bonds with little boys and girls from Lindale.

He loved all the gifts and couldn't decide what he wanted to wear or play with first. Thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated.  It was a SUPER day!
