Family Traditions

On Wednesday, April 20th, we dyed Easter eggs...just the three of us.  It was so much fun!!!  Instead of the traditional egg dying where you place the eggs in the cups of vinegar, we bought a roll-on kit.  It was really neat to roll the dye on the eggs.  Kylee's first egg was absolutely precious.  She drew crosses on her egg.  I asked her why, and she said, "Because Jesus died on the cross for us."  I love that she understands the real meaning of the Easter celebration.

Shower #2

On Tuesday, April 19th, my wonderful team had a beautiful shower for me at work.  I am so blessed to be working with such wonderful ladies.  My sweet mother brought Kylee up to celebrate as well.  She was such a good sport and was extremely helpful.  She's super excited about having a big brother.  After the shower, we stopped at the hospital to pre-register.  We then made a quick trip to Target to return a few baby items.  When we got home, I started dinner and Kylee immediately wanted to go through all of her brother's gifts again.  We took all the tags off and sorted through everything.  It is so much fun having all the baby BOY stuff around.

Still Working on it.....

After multiple hours of working on the swing set, they are STILL not finished.  Needless to say, they have completed a lot.  The kids are actually able to climb the ladder and slide down. While the guys worked on the swing set, Mom and I worked on the baby items.  We put together his crib, car seat, stroller, swing, and his bouncer.  With the weeks closing in, I thought we better get the things ready.  It could be any day now.

Crazy girls!

Friday night, Kylee was invited to spend the night at Isa's house.  They went out to eat and then to the Swamp Stomp at a near by elementary school.  Saturday morning they each had a soccer game.  Kylee was on fire!!!  The Pixies won...10-9!  Kylee, scoring all 10 goals for her team!!!  After the soccer games, Isa came to our house for another slumber party.  They jumped in the bath, ate lunch, and took a nice long nap.  The rest of the night was full of excitement with the Tuffs and Krugers!!!

Gymnastics

Kylee has been in gymnastics on and off since she was 18 months old.  She absolutely loves it. Not only does she love it because it's fun, but I love it because it's such good exercise for her.  Honestly, I think she loves it all, but the bars and the pit are her favorite things to do.

And They're Off!

Kylee and Sally had a great day of bonding.  Sally and Jim left after several hours of Jim helping with the swing set and Sally playing with Kylee.  The rest of us (Mom, Dad, Jackie, Kristin, Charlie, Kylee, and I) all stayed and played, put the swing set up, and soaked up TONS of sun.  Kylee and I were outside from 9:30am for soccer until 6:30pm. Luckily Kylee put sunscreen on!  Me, on the other hand....didn't, until it was too late.  I am as red as a tomato.

Kylee was playing t-ball with Jackie.
Last night Kylee went home with her Nana and Papa.  They were extremely tired from the long day in the sun, so they stopped and picked up Bar-B-Que for dinner.  Of course Kylee wanted ribs, but they were all out.  She settled for brisket and mac n cheese.  After they took a shower, they watch NASCAR and apparently Kylee was asking all kinds of questions.  Nana and Kylee finally went to bed and turned Hannah Montana on.  Kylee was a little whiny because of her sun burn.  Poor thing.  After sleeping in until 8:30am, Kylee and Nana headed out to "Uncken Jeff's" race.  Papa left extra early and headed to Nebraska for work.  On the way to the races, Nana stopped and took pictures of Kylee in the Texas Bluebonnets.

Kylee had a FABULOUS time at the races.  She loved Jeff and Jill's camper and the fact that she could get dirty without her mom there panicking.  She couldn't stop talking about the great day she had.

My brother is so handsome!!!  I love him!!!!

Tyler and Kylee...love them!!!

Jeff is about to pass the guy in front of him!!!

Madison and Kylee cheering on Jeff!!!

After the looooong, but exciting weekend, Kylee is already in bed. (7:00pm)  She's totally pooped out.  Charlie and I are as well.  We spent the day shopping for the baby.  One expensive trip to Target and two verrrry expensive trips to Babies R Us.  We ended up buying a white sleigh crib to match the dresser and changing table we used for Kylee. Our original crib was on recall.  Unfortunately, when they sent the replacement, they sent a cheap walnut colored crib.  I just couldn't have a mismatched bedroom set for our prince.  Anyone who knows me...know this.  In addition to the crib, we bought a swing, exchanged out our stroller for a different one, and bought a pack n play.  I am getting to so excited to meet our little man.  There is still a lot to do, and I better get busy...only 4 more weeks!!!!!!

Swing Set, Sally, Soccer, and Sun

A couple weeks ago Charlie ordered Kylee a GIGANTIC swing set.  According to the directions, it takes 10-12 hours with a two-man assembly.  None of the parts are labeled.  The poor guys are having to measure every piece before putting it together.  My Dad came over Wednesday afternoon and spent 4 hours working on it with Charlie.  Thursday night Aunt Sally and Uncle Jim came over to help too.  Charlie and Uncle Jim worked a couple hours until they couldn't see anymore.  Kylee entertained Sally on the trampoline, played t-ball with her, and talked her ear off.  It's so nice to see the bond they share.

This morning Kylee had a nice crowd to cheer her on during her soccer game.  Jackie, Kristin, Sally, Jim, Nana, Charlie, and I were all there to watch our all-star.  Kylee scored 6 out of the 7 goals for her team today!!! Now, as I sit here in the cool breeze soaking up the sun, Charlie, my dad, and Uncle Jim continue to put the swing set up.  Kylee is hopeful that they will finish, but I tried to explain to her, it's going to be a while.

Lazy Day

After a long week filled with a school field trip to Austin, Texas in one day, soccer practice, gymnastic practice, soccer game, and everything else in between, we needed a lazy day!!!  After sleeping in, we picked up around the house, dropped off books at the library, returned some baby items to Target, then stopped by Charlie's favorite place...Walmart, to get groceries.  We came home and Kylee played next door with Macy for a bit.  I put all the groceries away and packed our lunches and bags for tomorrow.  After lunch, we all sat down on the couch to relax.  Kylee and Charlie are sneaking in a little nap while I blog.  I am about to head into the kitchen to prepare a meal or two for the week.  Charlie's favorites:  tator tot casserole and beef burritos.
In about 5 weeks 4 days....there will be a little baby boy snuggled up on daddy as well!
