Mommy's Little Helper

Kylee is such a wonderful big sister.  Her heart is full of love, but sometimes is can be a little too much for Brooks. However, today she helped me change Brooks' diaper.  I kept warning her, "You better hurry!  He's going to spray you!"  Lucky for her, she moved quick enough.

First Day of Summer!

Our first day of summer was filled with lots of fun!  We all slept in and laid around the house to start.  I stopped for a quick doctors appointment and then we headed to the library for the Summer Reading Kick-off Party.  The girls had a fun time making dioramas, eating snacks, and mingling with friends.  We then went shopping for a  couple outfits for Mommy because I had to go to some training this week for work.   We then topped off our night playing with Aunt Jennifer.  She is finally home to stay.

Big Boy!

After 3 weeks and 3 days, we decided Brooks was too big for his bassinet and he needed to start sleeping in his crib.  It was a little hard the first night (3/5/11), but he/we are adjusting.  I even got him to take a nap on his own today!  What a big boy!!!

Summer Time!

After all morning and all afternoon in the sun at Nana's, the girls still didn't have enough.  After dinner they went outside to throw water balloons and play in the sprinkler.  After a few injuries from flying balloons, the girls decided it was safer to put the balloons on the trampoline and jump to pop them.

It's definitely not a pool, but the cute sprinkler will work...at least for a while!!

We then got a little creative and decided to make the fast slide even faster.  With the water and the height of the slide, it was like they were at Hurricane Harbor. ;-)  They zoomed down so fast they couldn't even stop themselves.  Cailey even took a face plant in the grass.

This is what happened after every slide down.  We couldn't stop laughing.

To top off the night, the girls took a quick shower and then we made s'mores!

Gone Dos

Charlie and Kylee went to see our horse at Lone Star.  It was quite exciting for Kylee and Charlie both.  We haven't had a chance to see him in action.  It should only be a few more weeks until he runs in a race.

Kylee and Taylor were outside watching all the horses and it started to rain.  It didn't stop these two little firecrackers from having fun though.

Later that evening, Charlie, Kylee, and my Dad went to watch Mark's (our trainer) horse run in a race.  And what a race to stay for too.  The horse came in first place.  Charlie won about $600 and they all got to get their picture taken in the winner circle.  I can't wait to see our own horse race and have our family picture in the winner circle! Wish us luck!

End of Year Celebration

Kylee has been apart of Pecan Creek since she was 14 months old.  Mark and Linda always made sure we felt comfortable and that Kylee was loved.  Just this past year, after Mark passed away, Linda sold the daycare to some wonderful people.  What a true blessing it is to have Kylee apart of such a spiritual program.  Not only does she learn the basics of reading and math, but the true meaning of our savior.  I pray every night that Kylee will grow emotionally, socially, physically, and most importantly, spiritually.  Pecan Creek has provided a tremendous amount of spiritual growth, and I will forever be grateful.  I am sad to see Kylee move on, but I know she will continue to grow and spread the word of the Lord.

During the program they sang songs and told stories from the bible.  It was amazing to actually see what they've been learning all year long.  Kylee had an individual part in the program where she told the story of baby Jesus.

Another important thing they learned all year was what good character looks like.  Kylee helped present a word to the parents.  Her teacher described her as considerate.  She said Kylee is always looking after the other students.

More Nebraska Fun!

The kids were begging to go swimming.  Unfortunately, the weather was rainy and cold.  The water was in the 60s.  Not ideal for swimming.  After enough begging and pleading, Aunt Karma gave in.  The kids got their suits on and jumped in.  Some stayed longer than others.  Kylee only got about waist deep. It was waaaay too cold for this girlie girl.

Kerri and Braxton loving on Brooks!

Kerri, Nate, Nana, and Uncle Drum Drum (Brett) took Kylee to see Uncle Drum Drum's house.  There she was able to be Socks and Tri-pod (Sydney). Kylee wasn't too excited about meeting all the animals.

Look at how scared she was.  Even after being at the horse raced with Daddy, she is still scared.

Brooks 2 weeks old and Jett 4 months old.

Playing outside at Aunt Stacy's with Joey and Jasie!  They had a great time sliding and soaking up the sun for a few hours!

It was such a blessing being able to take the trip to Nebraska.  It is always nice to catch up and hang out with the people we love the most!
